چکیده

Abstract During 2017–2018, nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPAs) from 627 hospitalized patients with severe acute respiratory infection at Luohe Center Hospital were tested by RT-PCR for human parainfluenza virus 4 (HPIV-4). Fourteen (2.2%) of the samples positive HPIV-4. The complete HN gene was amplified nine and sequenced. Sequence comparisons showed that HPIV-4 strains circulating in city are closely related to HPIV-4A strains. Our study indicated there multiple lineages Henan Province China during period. This will improve our understanding epidemiological clinical characteristics

Human Parainfluenza Virus-Associated Respiratory Tract Infection among Children and Genetic Analysis of HPIV-3 Strains in Beijing, China

The relevance of human parainfluenza viruses (HPIVs) to the epidemiology of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in China is unclear. From May 2008 to September 2010, 443 nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPAs) from hospitalized pediatric patients (age from 1 to 93 months) in Beijing were collected and screened for HPIVs and other common respiratory viruses by real-time RT-PCR. Sixty-two of 443 samples w...

Genome Sequences of Three Novel Isolates of Human Parainfluenza Virus 2 Associated with Acute Respiratory Infection

Using target capture of viral nucleic acid and next-generation sequencing, we generated the genome sequences of three novel human parainfluenza virus 2 isolates. Isolates ACRI_0185 (GenBank accession number MF077311), ACRI_0230 (MF077312), and ACRI_0248 (MF077313) were collected in October 2016, February 2017, and March 2017, respectively, from pediatric patients with acute respiratory infectio...

Human parainfluenza virus infection in Thai children with lower respiratory tract infection from 2010 to 2013.

Human parainfluenza virus (HPIV) is a common cause of upper and lower respiratory illness in infants and young children. In order to classify the HPIV isolates circulating in the central part of Thailand, 650 samples obtained from the lower respiratory tract of patients from two hospital pediatric wards during 2010 to 2013, were analyzed for the presence and types of HPIVs by multiplex semi-nes...

Successful Treatment of Parainfluenza Virus Respiratory Tract Infection With DAS181 in 4 Immunocompromised Children

BACKGROUND Parainfluenza virus (PIV), a common pediatric pathogen, is associated with significant morbidity in immunocompromised (IC) hosts. DAS181, a novel sialidase fusion protein inhibitor, seems to be effective against PIV in vitro and in vivo; its use in IC children has not been evaluated. METHODS Patients were diagnosed with PIV infection using a quantitative reverse transcription-polym...
